BACKGROUND Over the past decade, Exxaro has established itself as one of South Africa’s largest resource companies. They go far beyond being just a mining business. They wisely steward our natural assets, all the while looking after the health and wellbeing of our communities.

They strive for excellence in all they do. Their functions, processes, and people are all geared toward powering a positive and sustainable future for South African society. Exxaro developed their 2026 Strategy with this in mind. A strategy that is focussed on delivering today’s energy needs as well as growing their business of tomorrow.




BRIEF We were tasked to create an internal brand engagement campaign that would communicate the 2026 Strategy. The campaign needed to create excitement and reassurance amongst employees around the future of Exxaro and their role in the company.

The campaign would reach multiple audiences and delivered through various touch-points – print, digital and interactive materials. The message would ultimately be delivered by the Exxaro CEO himself, sharing the 2026 Strategy on a roadshow reaching numerous operations and offices across South Africa.




SOLUTION We created the x+x=winning campaign. A campaign that focussed on partnerships as well as the future strategy of Exxaro. Employees + Exxaro, innovation + Exxaro, business of today + business of the future. The x+x=winning campaign became the formula by which Exxaro would succeed in being sustainable as well as power better lives across Africa.
