Initial identity designs for a Luxury Villa in Zanzibar. Three different routes explore different characteristics of Lali, Matemwe beach and traditional Zanzibar architecture.

Lali’s characteristics suit the villa so well; welcoming, elegant, serene, humble, polished, beautiful and understated. I used these lovely personality traits to inform the symbol, font and colours of this option. The visual style is elegant and humble, polished but down to earth.

The icon combines the profile of a women with loosely pinned up hair, pieces blowing in the breeze. Precious stone earrings and a pendant close to her heart adorn her.  Tall palm trees are entangled in her hair as she looks out over the horizon.

Inspired by the Kenyan-Arabic architecture of the villa, this option references the intricate window and door frames. Looking onto the beautiful beach from within the home, this device frames your Zanzibar experience. It serves as the perfect representation of a house that reflects a Kenyan, Zanzibar and Arabic style.

This option captures the serenity and beauty of a sunrise on Matemwe. I created a simple symbol that resembles the sun rising over the tranquil water. The visual style is simple, elegant and ‘easy’. The symbol can be integrated into the wordmark – Lali – as the ‘A’ or sit independently as a recognisable icon.
